Texas Intimate Wedding Photographers at Rae Allen Photography go on location to the Barr Mansion. Nestled among new builds and country views is a venue that has been hosting weddings since the 80s.
Austin photographers, Sam and Eric were particularly excited to shoot this intimate Jewish soiree because not only were the backdrop views stunning, Julie and Chris were one of a kind couple and they deserved this gorgeous soiree.
There was a certain peacefulness to the day. No one rushed and everyone, all 30 guests, was truly loved by the bride and groom. The parents beamed with the bride and you could see the love they had for Chris and Julie. Not only is Chris a commercial airline pilot, but a talented woodworker who crafted a stunning ring box and their Chuppah, that represents the home that Julie and Chris will build together. While there were many parts of the ceremony that I fell in love with, my favorite had to be the Ketubah singing that occurred before the ceremony.
The Ketubah is the Jewish marriage contract, with a legacy spanning
two thousand years. It is typically signed by the couple and at least two
witnesses. The original formulation was written at the end of the first
century CE. It was a legal document that detailed some of the rights and
obligations of the bride and groom. It offered some protection, in this
case for the bride, in the event of divorce. Given the era in which it was
written, it was quite extraordinary, giving some legal rights to women in
an age when they had few. Modern ketubah are typically spiritual, not
legal, covenants that the bride and groom make with one another, and
use egalitarian language.
The manuscript is a true work of art in itself. Rings were exchanged and a kiss sealed the deal, it was time to enjoy a perfect evening in the ballroom.
Cheers to the newly married couple!
“I cannot begin to describe how amazing Samantha and Eric are, but I will try. Our wedding photos are absolutely stunning! Not only that, but they were so amazing to work with. I would recommend them a million times over if I could. Now we have the hard job of picking out which of the hundreds of stunning pictures captured we would like to print.” -Julie
