A Sweet 16 French Party
A sweet 16 French birthday party located at Hotel Ella in downtown Austin was a stylish boutique backdrop perfect for Ella’s special day.
Located in downtown Austin and walking distance to the University of Texas campus, Hotel Ella is a historic hotel housed in the historic Goodall Wooten House, one of Austin’s original landmark estates. Constructed in 1900, the Greek revival-style mansion underwent an extensive renovation in 2013. A rich history is rooted in the fabric of the neighborhood and the university.
I can not begin to tell you how much I adore spaces with historical value, especially venues that have been renovated and loved on by their new owners. When Karen of Clay and Vine Events reached out to me and gave me the event details; a Parisian 16th birthday party, located at Hotel Ella, I was beyond ecstatic.
Moody teal colors, blue velvet details, and purples and green floral hues added to the already gorgeous colors of Goodall’s Kitchen, where the private dinner took place.
I laughed and told Eric he needed to step up his birthday game. He appeared unamused by my statement.
A group picture shot on the steps of Ella kicked off the luxe birthday, and soon the group walked into the decorated restaurant, closed specifically for Ella’s dinner. Non-alcoholic pink lemonade punches, paired with steak dinners had the room buzzing with teenage excitement, and soon it was time to cut the cake.
Of course happy birthday had to be sung, and cake was cut. Decadent smore’s brownies and sugar cookies complemented the 2-tierd floral cake.
Soon the party was ready to head off to their next stop, a silent disco party located at Ella’s home. I could only imagine what that would’ve been like to photograph.
Cheers to a fabulous birthday party! It was one for the books.
